“ALBUM DI FAMIGLIA – Sempre devi avere in mente Itaca…”

“Album di famiglia” è un progetto performativo che nasce allo scopo di ri-creare (o meglio creare) uno scambio umano extrasistemico a partire da alcuni scatti fotografici estratti da un vecchio album trovato per strada a Firenze lo scorso maggio. Sono 6 fotografie del 1980, dal carattere universale, evocative di storie comuni e capaci di quel punctum di cui parla Barthes. Diffuse in versione originale (nella forma del dono casuale) all’interno di un supermercato (dopo averne affisso abusivamente una riproduzione ingrandita in uno spazio pubblicitario), le 6 fotografie riportano sul retro un breve testo (sottoforma di domanda) che invita il pubblico, chiaramente non convocato, che ne verra’ in possesso, a una riflessione e a una possibile risposta in modo da innescare un circuito di incontri (diretti o indiretti) del tutto contingente.
In un periodo storico come quello attuale (e nello specifico l’emergenza degli ultimi mesi) forse la necessita’ primaria è rappresentata non tanto dai bisogni legati alla sopravvivenza fisiologica ma piuttosto a quella sociale e umana.
Franco Spina (Cosenza nel 1992) vive a lavora a Firenze. Esplora visioni e linguaggi legati al tessuto sociale, esprimendosi soprattutto attraverso le pratiche performative con progetti che ricodificano l’esperienza stessa del dinamismo fisico e sociale attraverso le nuove tecnologie e una nuova esperenzialità. Dal 2016 è nel duo artistico MOM3NTO con Miriam Bettarini e dal 2017 docente di Arti Performative presso TIAC Academy of Fine Arts. Ha esposto in Italia e all’estero.

Album di famiglia” is a performance project born with the aim of re-creating (or rather creating) an extrasystemic human exchange starting from some photographic shots taken from an old album found in Florence in May. They are 6 photographs, evocative of common stories and having the punctum of which Barthes wrote. I diffused those in the original version (in the form of the random gift) inside a supermarket (after having illegally posted an enlarged reproduction in an empty advertising space). The photographs have a short text on the back (in the form of a question) that invites the public, clearly not convened, who will be in possession of it, to a reflection and a possible response in order to trigger a completely contingent circuit of meetings (direct or indirect).
In our historical period (and specifically the emergency of the last few months) perhaps the primary necessity is represented not so much by the needs related to physiological survival but rather to social and human survival.
Franco Spina (Cosenza, 1992) lives and works in Florence. It explores visions and languages related to the social environment, expressing itself above all through performance practices with projects that embody the experience of physical and social dynamism through new technologies and new experiences. Since 2016 he has been in the artist duo MOM3NTO with Miriam Bettarini and since 2017 he has been a teacher of Performing Arts at TIAC Academy of Fine Arts. He has had art exhibitons in Italy and abroad.
