La necessità di un affetto. La mancanza di un contatto fisico. Un isolamento carnale. Bene di prima necessità, carne di cui nutrirsi, l’affetto si trasforma in merce da acquistare, conservare, congelare, cucinare, mangiare. Fino a quando la fame non torna.
Sabino de Nichilo utilizza la ceramica, a volte assemblata con elementi naturali, come medium principale di una ricerca che esplora il confine tra organico e inorganico. Privando l’umano della sua unità e degli attributi che lo definiscono e lo decodificano culturalmente, modella oggetti carnali che sembrano lacerti di una macellazione o di un’autopsia. Attraverso essi porta alla luce una visceralità sentimentale che addomestica l’alienità di un’anatomia mutante con le cromie spesso sgargianti degli smalti che rivestono le sculture.

The need of an affection. The lack of a physical contact. A carnal isolation. Basic necessities, meat to be nourished, affection is transformed into something to buy, store, freeze, cook and eat. Until hunger returns.
Sabino de Nichilo uses ceramics, sometimes assembled with natural elements, as the main medium of a research that explores the boundary between organic and inorganic. By depriving the human of his unity and the attributes that define and decode him culturally, he models carnal objects that seem to be lacerated by slaughter or autopsy. Through them he brings to light a sentimental viscerality that tames the alienation of a mutant anatomy with the often bright colours of the enamels that cover the sculptures.
