Senza uno sguardo esterno il mio lavoro è amputato. Se esco, sono rimasti solo i gabbiani, sempre più padroni delle strade del centro. Il rumore del loro canto ha sostituito quello delle macchine e scandisce le ore della giornata.
Ho deciso di provare ad avere uno scambio con loro a traverso il posizionamento di una scultura su lungotevere.
Scopro che ai gabbiani non piace il blu, e che malgrado il lavoro sia fatto di pane, la sua forma e la tonalità gli impediscono di assaggiarlo. Questi elementi mi permettono di creare con i volatili un rapporto simile a quello che ho con i fruitori umani : attrazione, osservazione, analisi, reazione.
Lulù Nuti vive e lavora tra Parigi e Roma, la sua ricerca interpreta i sentimenti di responsabilità e di impotenza che la nostra epoca provoca sull’essere umano, sulla percezione della realtà, sulla trasformazione delle abitudini e sul rapporto con la natura. Nelle sue opere sperimenta vari materiali di costruzione accostandoli spesso a elementi naturali, concependo masse scultoree e installative in dialogo con lo spazio. Il lavoro di Nuti si contraddistingue per la convivenza di una sottile dualità tra presenza e cancellazione, rottura e solidità, resistenza e fragilità, in una altalenante ricerca di equilibrio e tensione, lasciando trapelare un immaginario che interpreta i conflitti dell’essere umano sia in senso escatologico e come frutto di un’analisi contemporanea legata al qui e ora.
Nel 2018 ha fondato con Pamela Pintus il duo LU.PA, identità artistica che opera soprattutto attraverso azioni performative e opere site-specific.

My work needs a viewer. In Rome, outside, only the seagulls are left, more and more masters of the streets in the center. The sound of their singing has replaced the one of the cars and marks the hours of the day.
I decided to try to have an exchange with them through the positioning of a sculpture on Lungotevere.
I find out that seagulls don’t like blue, and that despite the work is made of bread, its shape and colour prevent the bird from tasting it. These elements allow me to create a relationship with birds similar to what I have with human public: attraction, observation, analysis, reaction.
Lulù Nuti lives and works between Paris and Rome, her research questions what being in the world means in the 21st century. In Her work she depicts the feeling of responsibility and powerlessness that are engendered by the age we live in and affect human beings, the perception of reality, the change in habits and the relationship with nature. She experiments with various construction materials, often combining them with natural elements, creating sculptures and installations that dialogue with space. Nuti’s work is characterized by the coexistence of a subtle duality between presence and cancellation, rupture and solidity, resistance and fragility, in a fluctuating search for tension and balance, allowing for the unveiling of an imaginary that interprets the conflicts of human beings in an eschatological sense and as the result of a contemporary analysis linked to the here and now.
In 2018 she founded the artistic duo LU.PA together with Pamela Pintus, an artistic identity that primarily operates through performance actions and site-specific works.
