“RESILIENZA”

L’opera è stata realizzata nel momento più restrittivo delle disposizioni di reclusione anti covid19 e consiste in centinaia di chiocciole in letargo che disposte su un muro del terrazzo condominiale compongono la parola RESILIENZA. La comunità dei condomini costretta ad usare il terrazzo come unico luogo di condivisione dello spazio aperto si è molto identificata nella condizione naturale delle chiocciole, chiuse nel loro guscio per difendersi da uno spazio esterno non in grado di offrire loro sopravvivenza. Dopo più di un mese alla vigilia della fase 2 molte chiocciole si sono spostate seguendo un richiamo naturale, inaugurando un processo che ha portato alla distruzione della parola a favore di una forma per noi indefinita simile alla misteriosa composizione di una costellazione.
La ricerca artistica di Ruiu ha come costante una tensione poetica che focalizza tematiche legate ai bisogni più intimi e profondi dell’uomo.

The work was created in the most restrictive moment during the Covid19 quarantine. It consists in hundreds of hibernating snails arranged on a wall of the condominium terrace to form the word “RESILIENZA” (resilience). The condominium community, forced to use the terrace as the only place to share the open space, has very much identified with the natural condition of the snails, closed in their shells to defend themselves from an external space not able to offer them survival. After more than a month on quarantine phase 2, many snails have moved their body following a natural call, inaugurating a process that will lead to the destruction of the word in favour of an indefinite form similar to the mysterious composition of a constellation.
Ruiu’s artistic research has as a constant poetic tension with focus on themes linked to the most intimate and deep needs of man.
